We are encouraged to see other initiatives in and around Lowick seeking to build and strengthen community ties and promote a range of social activities.

LCB wants to play its part by offering another virtual meeting place for the sharing of news and local developments and the stories of the people behind them.

We also want to offer 'on-air' opportunities via our broadcasting platforms for those who would like to share their knowledge, experience and talents with the wider community and try their hand at local broadcasting. Project leader Kevin Archer has a background in education and in recent years has worked with a community radio station in West Yorkshire and in 2020 set up Holy Island Radio during the first lockdown. You can see him talking about the project here on BBC's Look North.
